Who We are

we believe

We believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, and our Lord and Savior. Our shared goal is to build our lives around glorifying God and following Jesus Christ to the best of our ability;

each in our own way as we continue to grow in our faith.

The Bible tells the story of God's redemptive power in the world and fulfilled in Jesus Christ. As believers we are part of that ongoing story and we strive to remain obedient to the teachings of the New Testament while practicing a faith that is socially relevant and intellectually sound. Members are bound together in fellowship and service by confessing that "Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God." (Matthew 16:16) On other matters, we recognize the freedom of individual believers to have differences of opinion.

Communion

Communion, or The Lord’s Supper, is celebrated in weekly worship and is open to all who believe in Jesus Christ. The communion table is the central piece of our worship service and the cornerstone of our community life. We serve communion each week at an "open table," where all are welcomed just as Jesus welcomed all who would come into his presence. We believe that everyone is welcome at the Lord's table with us, in worship among us, and in service to the world beside us.

disciples of christ

The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is the oldest protestant  domination founded on American soil. It was formed out of the recognition that the church universal had become too fragmented. The Disciples of Christ believe that everyone has a unique understanding of God. Through worship and study together in community all of us grow in the faith. Disciples do not have formal creeds or doctrinal statements, rather the only "requirement" of faith is believing that Jesus is the Lord of the world and the son of God. We celebrate this unity of Jesus the Christ through holy communion which we share every Sunday. The table is open to all who believe in Jesus regardless of church membership or affiliation. We believe we are united in Christ first and foremost. You can learn more about the Disciples of Christ by clicking here.
